Just been for a walk along the North Forty Foot Bank to the west of Boston and seen my first Little Owl in three years! The previous and only time that I've seen one before today was just outside Kedleston Park near Derby.

This makes it a Patch First and a County First for me! It was perched on a telephone wire close to a farm building. Additionally, I saw a Barn Owl hunting over the same area and for a split second, in the same field as the Little Owl!!! :D

Incidentally, a walk along the South Forty Foot yesterday resulted in another Patch First; a Common Tern diving for small fish and insects between Chain Bridge and Hubberts Bridge!
