Post subject:  TTVs in the Holbeach area

On Sunday I did a marathon session and covered 5 TTVs in the Holbeach area with the aid of a bike. Total 56 species. Highlights: 2 fluffy Tawny Owls 'tsewicking' in the only patch of wood, a Spotted Flycatcher at Holbeach Hurn, Sparrowhawk carrying food to a nest site, a pair of Little Grebes with 2 young in a small farm pond with reedy banks, a roadside lawn had G S Woodpecker feeding a juvenile just 10 metres from a Green Woodpecker, a pair of Oystercatchers in the same area as my 'early' survey (T).
Lots of new confirmed and probable breeding records for the 10km square, late June is certainly an ideal time for confirming breeding records.
