Post subject:  West Ashby Lakes just north of Horncastle

Called in this morning and had a look at this site for the first time. Lots of breeding waterfowl plus Great Crested Grebes with young (first confirmed record in TF27). One Little Grebe but no sign of any chicks. Also a pair of Oyster Catchers and 1 Common Tern fishing. A fisherman told me Kingfishers are seen quite regularly here. Has anybody recorded them breeding in the Bain valley in the last couple of years? Louth and Boston (TF 38 and 34) are the only squares we have them confirmed as breeding in so far in E Lincs.
