Last night on bank South of drain and South East of Nunn's Bridge:
Pair of Bull Finches.
Also:
Whitethroat, Chiff Chaff, Turtle Dove.

I was interested to read your report Jonathan despite having limited mobility following hospitalisation.
I am of the opinion that Whitethroat numbers in and around Fishtoft village are up on last year. Turtle Dove did bread nearby in 2009 and should have young by now. They are usually fed by both parents and are frequently double-brooded.
I always feel that the deep crooning or purring note of Turtle Dove and the dancing song flight of the Whitethroat are synonymous with our summertime.
