Main pit this afternoon: 1 x Cuckoo Several Reed Warblers,Reed Buntings,Common Whitethroats,single Goldfinch, 6 x Cormorant, 1 x soaring Buzzard, 1 x soaring Sparrowhawk. 1 x Banded Demoiselle down the drain towards the River. Scrapes: 1 x Wood Sandpiper,2 x Redshank, 1 x Greenshank, 1 x Ringed Plover, 3 x Little Egret,1 x Channel/Blue Headed Wagtail, 2 x Yellow Wagtail, 1 x (f) Grey Wagtail, 1 x Pied Wagtail,2 x Stock Dove,1 x Banded Demoiselle over main pool. 04/06/2010 Fiskerton Fen scrapes 19:00pm - 20:30pm 3 Redshank 1 Little-ringed Plover 1 Ringed Plover 3 Yellow Wagtail 3 Grey Partridge 1 Red-legged Partridge 1 Grey Heron 1 Stock Dove Plus Gadwall, Tufted, Mallard, Shoveler, Mute Swans, Greylag Geese, Lapwings, Black-headed Gulls Lots of Starlings now gathering |

Fiskerton Fen Scrapes c 1.00 - 2.00 Sat 5 June. Additional birds further to Russell's post of 4 June : Little Egret - 4 all on the pool to the right of the Hide initially, then flew over bank beyond scrapes; but all 4 still visible from time to time. Grey Heron - 6 in total flew L to R over or beyond rt.hand pool. Buzzard Cuckoo - heard Regards, Freddy ( with son Alex ) |
