At about 09:00 a Red Kite appeared over the trees to the right of the cathedral being mobbed by a Carrion Crow. It then circled over the east end of the mere for about 10 minutes, gradually gaining height till it was just a speck in the scope. It then dropped of to the south. This is my 2nd record of Red Kite for the patch this year. Also first young Black-headed Gull on the raft this morning. |
