The Lincolnshire Bird Club

One was seen at the N end early afternoon but had disappeared by the time we got there but I did see a Golden Oriole (fem or 1st sum male) flying S then across to the outer dunes.

And 1 Spoonbill on Tennyson's

It was last seen probably about 2pm and the last person who saw it watched it flying south form the north end of the reserve - it was lost from view so not sure if it dropped down further towards the south end of the reserve or whether it cleared off completely. AS far as I know, no-one walked the length of the reserve to check further south - those present had walked back to cars at Drake Road.

Ed Mackrill had a good check around the south end of the reserve later on but the weather was worse then and if the bird was present it would probably have been keeping low ater feeding well earlier.

I would be surprised if the bird had moved too far in the weather - but spring bee-eaters are not notorious for hanging around.

After leaving the Drake Road area, Linda & I checked around Mill Hill but abandoned it after a while when the rain started to fall heavily. We then took shelter in the hides at Croft Marsh.
