Wood Warbler singing in Temple Wood this morning (per Terry Barnatt). I also heard Cuckoo, several Garden Warblers but no Nightingales. On a nearby Breeding Bird Survey at Aslackby: 9 Common Whitethroats, 3 Lesser Whitethroats, 2 Blackcaps, 1 Willow Warbler and 1 Grasshopper Warbler. My best tally of warblers on this site in over 10 years of BBS recording. Regards Hugh Dorrington |
