Highlights of a cold and wet day on the patch were:- 2 Shelduck on flooded field 12 Gadwall 1 male Shoveler 2 Little Grebes 1 Great Crested Grebe 2 Oystercatchers 2 Lapwings 2 Green Woodpeckers 7 Sand Martins c60 Swallows 8 House Martins 3 Wheatears, 2m 1f, on the tip Blackcaps, Willow Warblers & Chiffchaffs Also yesterday 11 Whooper Swans flew NW mid morning. My patch year list now stands at 100, out of a total 106 species which been recorded on the patch this year. |
