After a very quiet morning on the patch I was pleased to find a Little Gull feeding over the mere this afternoon. The bird was an adult, still in winter plumage but with a pink flush to the underparts. For the 2 hours I was watching it was constantly dip feeding over the mere and never setlled. At times it was harassed by Black-headed Gulls. The bird was still present when I left at 16:10. Also seen today:- 7 Pink-footed Geese with Greylags. 3 Great Crested Grebes. 1 Oystercatcher. 2 singing Chiffchaffs.
