Sightings today -
Peregrine - one over in full voice interacting with buzzard
Green woodpecker
Great spotted woodpecker
Chiffchaff - calling
Mistle thrush
Song thrush
Fieldfare - flock of 30 heading south
Red legged partridge - 2 in garden

Yesterday
Chiffchaff calling in Grantham - bottom of station road, adjacent to Morrisons roundabout

Also sparrowhawk passed through garden

Morning
Chiffchaff calling
Green woodpecker
Great spotted woodpecker
Blackcap - also one seen on Somerby Hill at side of A52
Stock dove
Mistle thrush

Evening
Linnet - 20 in 1 group
Yellowhammer - 4
Crow - 6
Pheasant - numerous
Red legged partridge - calling
Skylark - group of 20 plus 2 or 3 birds calling on territory

Merlin - also witnessed by another observer. Flew low over field from north & perched briefly on hedge until disturbed by passing vehicle.

Great spotted woodpecker - visiting garden daily
Green woodpecker

Evening
Linnets - 23 in one group
Yellowhammer - 4 males in full voice

On 3 evenings this week a small flock of birds has come in at dusk passing low of fields in a tight group & calling lightly. Believed to be golden plover - the light is really poor when they arrive. Numbers have varied between 6 & 12 birds
