Just been on another Swallow Patrol along the South Forty Foot again. None seen, but the walk bore interesting fruit! Goldeneye - 1 on water & first time I've seen one on the Drain Buzzard - 1 over West End Road Pochard - 1 on water Kingfisher - 1 on branch over water Redwing - flock of 8 in bushes Sparrowhawk - 1 flying low over S.F.F. Great Crested Grebe - 3 pairs Tufted Duck - about 50 on water Mistle Thrush - 2 Also Mallards, Canada Geese, Greylag Geese, Coots, Moorhens, Gulls, Jackdaws, Rooks, Magpies, Carrion Crows, Blackbirds, Robins, Goldfinches, Chaffinches, Greenfinches, Blue Tits, Starlings, Woodpigeons, Collared Doves and 1 Wren singing |
