Forgot to mention a Black-headed Gull had a BTO metal ring on its right lower leg, seen on Riverslea pit. However there was something wrong with the leg itself as it was keeping its weight off it when standing. iWhen It took off to the East it was dangling in flight.

Its the newly acquired part looking North from the bridleway towards the house at the back (i.e looking at it you should have the reserve pit behind you). You should have seen by now the bank on the West sculptered for potentially Kingfishers and Sand Martins.

When the water was lower (Sunday, water was entering the pit in the NW corner), sand/gravel islands are exposed in the centre where the bushes used to be.

After Riverslea ("Farm" I think) - the house at the far Northern end owned the pit and still has the northen part (a quarter). LWT has secured the remaining 3/4's south of the property as this secures water levels for the main reserve plus now have made their mark with the recent improvements (fencing, west bank, scrub clearing).

Think this covers it, but always welcome corrections if someone knows more or what I have read and heard are wrong.
