We have had lesser redpolls overwinter around our garden for the last 2 years after some years without them. Numbers rose to 16 on 17 Feb and have gone down to 4 today. There were at least 5 superb males 3 weeks ago, but none for at least 10 days now. Do males migrate back to the breeding areas before females? Cheers. Rick
