Neil Drinkall spotted a Common Crane at Alkborough Flats early this morning.
It was right across the back of the reserve and the best viewing was at about 800 metres range
from the elevated footpath in the wood. It flew east along the Humber at 8.05 a.m. and was not seen again.

Hi Roger,
Yes, I was fortunate to get a few minutes of film from the hill top. Had to work fast as Cranes are so unpredictable. The bird was not on the reserve but in a stubble field right across the far side.
I 'phoned the news through to the information service when I had finished filming.
It could be lingering in the area as a Crane was reported from North Cave yesterday.
