A couple of hours in the hides this morning, avoiding the intermittent /driving rain :

Shoveler 30+
Gadwall 12
Whooper Swan 1 on Reed bed
Snipe 60+
Black T Godwit 8
Avocet 9 first returning birds (also 16 at Freiston, per Paul Sullivan)
Lap Bunt 3 from 360 Hide
Raptors 0, unusually so.
Whole reserve still very wet, loads of Goldies, Lapwings, Wigeon etc. 1st March on Monday - what price the first Garganey ?

Yours in blind optimism,

Phil
