Post subject:  RSPB FRAMPTON

As no reports from Frampton for over 2 weeks I was asked today to remedy this. Several people contributed to this report.

The Snow and Lapland Bunting (about 15 Snows and 5 Laps) are still around usually on the scrapes or near East hide. They fly a lot and so can easily be found.

A flock of about 40 Twite can often be seen from the path from the Reed Bed hideto the East hide on the rough grass.

2 White Fronted geese are usually on the reservoir as well as numerous Canada, Greylag and Brent with a few pale bellied Brent.

Duck: 450 Wigeon were counted today as well as Teal, Mallard, Goldeneye (4), Tufted, Pintail (8), Gadwall Shoveler Pochard (9) and Shellduck.

Waders: Dunlin, Ruff, Blacktailed Godwit, Snipe (50?), and hundreds of Curlew, Redshank, Lapwing and Golden Plover.

Raptors: Hen Harrier, Merlin, Peregrine and Barn Owl are regularly seen.

On the feeders: Tree Sparrow, Chaffinch, Greenfinch, Reed Bunting, Yellow Hammer.

Its a great spectacle with lots of action.

Cheers Jonathan
