Walk across patch this morning. Weather dull and dreary but birds good:- 20 Pochard on mere 1 Water Rail calling. 1 Golden Plover on beet field, flew off W calling. A scarce bird on the patch, 1st of year. 33 Lapwings on beet field, flew off N. 5 Stock Doves by farm. 2 Great Spotted Woodpeckers. 7 Sky Larks on stubble kale. 1 Chiffchaff feeding on ground by hedge adjacent to main drain, 1st of year. 1 Treecreeper singing in wood. 1 female Bullfinch. 5 Yellowhammers. 1 Reed Bunting. |
