Highlights of a quiet week on the patch were:- 1 Bittern on 11th (J Hayes) 7 Shoveler on 9th 19 Pochard on 10th 32 Tufted Duck on 9th 1 redhead Goosander on 12th 1 Buzzard on 8th 6 Grey Partridges on 12th 2 Kingfishers on 10th 1 male Lesser Redpoll on 12th 27 Yellowhammers in one bush on 9th |

How far is it to walk from Lincoln railway station to Swanpool / Boultham / Hartsholme / Whisby etc? If it's ages, is there a good, reliable bus route to and from the area? |

Boultham Mere will be about 3 miles on foot Hartsholme Park and Swanholme Lakes are about 5 miles but easily reachable by bus Whisby NR is about 8 miles from the station and a couple of miles off the bus route |
