During birding around Apex Pit, North Hykeham, on Sunday morning, I was aware of Skylarks passing overhead all the time I was there. In groups as small as 2-3 up to 20-30 at a time, heading generally SW. Difficult to give any numbers as they were on a broad front and I wasn't counting them! However it could well have been low thousands!! Cold weather movements? Thurlby GP gull roost that evening only gave up one LBBG of note. David Jenkins |
