Post subject:  Witham Bank, Kirkstead Bridge to Stixwould Station Sat.
Afternoon walk along E bank and a look at adjacent drains. Waterbirds were concentrated around three small areas of open water, apart from Snipe, Woodcock, Lit. Egret and a few Mallard on the drains. Total no. spp. was 36 including the following.

Tufted Duck 4
Little Grebe 3
Cormorant 5
Little Egret 1
Sparrowhawk 1 (f. briefly mobbed Kestrel)
Buzzard 1
Kestrel 1
Peregrine 1
Moorhen 6

Snipe 3
Woodcock 2
Black Headed Gull 30
Common Gull 1
Barn Owl 1
Song Thrush 8
Goldfinch c. 80
Bullfinch 3
