A total of at least 6 Bittern at Far-Ings today,which included 4 birds feeding,or attempting to feed around the margins of the Target lake,giving fantastic views.Also at Far-Ings:

1 adult male Marsh Harrier
male Smew(Target Lake)
7 Bewick's Swan(East,early morning)
2 Peregrine
Pair of Beardies

The Bitterns certainly gave good views Steve didnt they? :D

Also at Far Ings:

1 Sparrowhawk (m) seen on 4 occasions
17 Snipe on meadow behind Ness Hide.

Before visiting Far Ings, very large flocks of Skylark seen at South Ferriby by the roadside near Reads Island - also 5 Fallow Deer out on the ice on Reads Island and at the lock c100 Wigeon at one point all spooked by a Sparrowhawk.

think you maybe missed a 0 off the Wigeon total Mandy! -- 230 Skylarks on the field -- 2000+ GBBG's roosting off Whitton this afternoon

Hi Graham

I just counted the ones in the sluice by the side of the pub :lol:
I was told by ND that there was hundreds of them on the Humber but I didnt see them personally.
