Unwilling to brave driving on untreated roads I took an hour out to walk locally: Buzzard 2 Kestrel 1 Greylag over 9 Grey Wagtail 1 (settling tank) Fieldfare c120 Redwing 1 Mistle thrush 1 Song thrush 1 (with snail - where did it get that from?) Blackbird c20 Chaffinch/Linnet flocks 3 or 4 of c30 - one flock included 7 Redpoll Greenfinch 3 Bullfinch 1 (m) Goldfinch 8 on sweet clover stand Carrion crow 3 Rooks/Jackdaws - everywhere Wren/Robin in every thicket A few starlings Dearth of woodpigeon and collared dove Would probably reward a more detailed observation without the dog!
