Post subject:  Swanpool/Boultham mere 04/01.
A very frosty but bright morning on the patch. All water frozen except for Catchwater drain.
1 Little Grebe on Catchwater drain
1 Little Egret also on Catchwater drain
1 Lapwing on field where sugar beet being lifted
1 Snipe flew over
1 Little Owl (not recorded last year)
2 Green Woodpeckers
c150 Skylarks feeding on stubble kale field
1 Pied Wagtail & 3 Meadow Pipits on sugar beet field
1 male Stonechat
1 Carrion Crow watched chasing, catching & eating a field mouse
c40 Goldfinches
c20 Yellowhammers
c10 Reed Buntings
