My first walk over the patch since 3rd December. Lovely still, bright morning though very cold. Boultham mere completely frozen over. Very little about. However a Little Egret flew south over the mere and then west down the main drain. A much overdue patch tick for me, several have been seen by mere regulars over the last few years but I had never caught up with one. Also 1 Woodcock flushed, c400 Wood Pigeons feeding on stubble kale and 1 Willow Tit. |
