Records from John Shaughnessy

Significant skylark movement (which started yesterday) - 943 moving south with another 340 grounded. Also 181 meadow pipit south - unusual for this time of year.

Gull influx - 3000 Herring gulls, 2000 common gull etc and a great skua in the Greenshank Creek aea.

Very few visitors on the beach over last few days so wader numbers starting to build up on the foreshore eg 550 grey plover, 300 knot etc.

Birds in off sea included 76 lapwing and 24 snipe. 540 golden plover moved south and a light arrival of woodcocks has been apparent.

Cheers

Kev
