Post subject: | RSPB Frampton Marsh Rock Pipits again |
Hi all We do a monthly passerine survey of the Frampton saltmarsh, and this month we will be doing it on Friday 11th Dec. After last months high count of 256 rock pipits at Frampton Marsh, we thought it might be fun/useful to try and involve more people and sites this month. I don't have the time/energy to properly co-ordinate a Wash-wide survey, but it would great if anybody wanted to go out on the marsh and count pipits (plus any other paserines they see, which could include Twite, Lapland and Snow Buntings). The obvious sites that could do with counting are the marshes at Frampton north (the LWT section), Kirton (the NNR) and the Holbeach-Terrington stretch. I'll be doing the Freiston saltmarsh after my section of Frampton. High tide on Friday 11th is at 13:45 and its a 6.1m. I have to stress this is not an RSPB venture, and anyone going out on the marsh does so at their risk and expense! You'll need to be reasonably fit and able to clamber in and out of creeks. I can send anyone thinking of doing a section a large scale print out OS map if needed. I'll post the figures from the RSPB counts on here this time next week. PF. |
