Brickyard Lane Theddlethorpe. Again no sign of the Shore Larks, but the mixed flock of Twite and Snow Bunting again showed well this morning. A good sized gathering of Common Scoter on the sea but I didn't count them. P.S. I almost forgot - I had just got in position to start filming the Twite when a Woodcock, that I had not seen, took off from the foreshore 15 feet in front of me! It flew along the coast towards Rimac and was lost to view. A pity that I didn't spot it sooner but it must have been crouching down in the Sea Asters. Opposite Rimac car park - in a walk out to the foreshore, Merlin perched on a post and 3 Little Egrets on the marshes, but no sight nor sound of Lapland Buntings. Saltfleetby - a Barn owl from the car as we drove home. Roy. |
