Took advantage of a lull in the wind today and with the help of a bike managed to get 5 TTVs done today in the uninspiring TF32 (around Holbeach).
Total 49 species seen (5 new winter species for the 10km square) including some surprises as usual:

10 Whooper Swans (adult) flying west bugling
Flock of 51 Corn Buntings on wires over a weedy field (my biggest flock ever)
c.50 Tree Sparrows in a hedge by some game cover
7 Curlews feeding in a field of winter wheat
1 Grey Wagtail
1 Jay
1 Green Woodpecker
1 G S Woodpecker
1 Buzzard
1 Sparrowhawk

Back home before the rain and in time to see England walloped by New Zealand at rugby.

A car load of us from the BTO had a big Atlasing day on Thursday, covering various tetrads around Willoughby, Sloothby and Orby. Nothing spectacular but highlights included 3 Green Sands, Barn Owl, Tawny Owl and Woodcock, but I was impressed by the good numbers of species like Song Thrush and some finches.

These squares are still lacking coverage, so if anyone passes thourgh, its worth adding some Roving Records. TF47 is still missing species like Lesser Black-backed Gull and Mute Swan!
