Andrew,
I have given the finder a call.
The bird was seen on the West side of the Church on what is known as 'Top Road'.
It flew up from the verge as he was driving.
The finder has an interest in birds and has previously seen Great Grey Shrike when on holiday and is in no doubt as to its identity.
It will be worth someone local checking the area to see if is wintering there.

as i live in louth five mins away i will go tomorrow to try to find it with my bird book as well so i know wat im looking at this time any one from louth want to come with me PM me

I had a look this morning but no sign of anything. The area where the report came from is not typical GGS territory with lots of mature trees and dwellings although there are more open areas and horse pastures nearby

ive been today as well knot seen i drive out of cawthorpe both ways @ in the through the ford stoped at water and walked to legboune by the waters edge a yellow wagtail and the common birds as well iam going to morrow to look again . john lusby

Much more likelly to be a Grey Wagtail down there. A Yellow at this time of year would be exceptional
