Thrushes dominated on 27th. I spent all day between Stonebridge and the RAF base and noted: Redwing 3960; Fieldfare 2410; Blackbird 600; Song Thrush 60; Ring Ouzel one male. Also seen were a single Lapland Bunting, an abietinus-type Chiff, Water Rail, 14 Brambling, 2 Stonechats and 2 Blackcaps (not a single crest today!).
Much reduced numbers of thushes today with 100 Blackbirds and 60 Redwing. Six Brambling flew over and a Yellow-browed Warbler appeared in Phil Espin's garden at Stonebridge around midday (while he was out!). A male Bullfinch was also a local scarcity. A single Goldcrest today! James
