Hi

Tuesday 20/10 high tide:
Knot 16700 blanketing the 2 islands
Black-tailed Godwit 4300
Above estimated from photos.

Greenshank 2
Dunlin 40
Teal 45
Wigeon 5
Pintail 3
Slellduck 20
Brent Geese 50
Avocet 1
Ringed Plover 16
Redshank 3

Having seen the thousands of Knot streaming North from the Frampton mudflats in front of the Cut End hide last Friday these figures are not surprising.

Cheers Jonathan

Wow - that's a lot of knot! In fact it's the highest ever count for the reserve (previously it was 14,000). Knot do seem to be increasing each year, whether they are responding to the safe, disturbance free roosting opportunities afforded by the reserve and/or other factors I don't know.

John
