12.09.2009 Family daytrip to Gib Point so mainly in beach and visitor centre area (didn't do Jackson's Marsh area,etc) 10.30 - 17.30 High-lights included: Artic Skua. Almost constant activity off-shore involving at least 12 individuals attacking fishing sandwich terns. Surprisingly no obvious bonxies. Kittiwake 4imm Gannet 8 Peregrine 1 Merlin 1female/imm (chasing small passerine low over car park during lunch) Marsh Harrier 2 south Little Egret (max of 16 together) Pink-footed Geese 35 (distant through wind farm) Wigeon 11 Redstart 1 Grey Wagtail 1 Yellow Wagtail 2 Whitethroat 2 Greenshank 2 Spotted Redshank 2 Black-tailed godwit 3 Ruff 1 Green Sandpiper 1 Whimbrel 4 Sanderling 9 and a probable Queen of Spain Fritillary past the visitor centre at 12.20.
