20 yards off shore I ment, still a good 100 yds from where we were stood at cut end hide. Very good views and better than I expected was what I was trying to say. All the reports I read said it was well off the shore and way out at sea. Thanks Mark |

Hoping to get to see the King Eider this Thursday, on the morning high tide. Can anyone confirm that this is around 09.00? Any suggestions for the first port of call – Freiston Shore or Cut End? Haven't visited either place before so any ideas welcome. Thanks Geoff |

Re your request for tide times, on Friday my table says about 10 am and it is only a 6.4 m. tide. If the King Eider is at the river mouth, it is a very good long walk to cut end from Frieston Mike Surr |
