A build up of black-headed gulls over the last couple of days - hundreds hawking over fileds where harvest is displacing lots of insects.

Interestingly, of 900 scanned this morning there were less than 20 juvenile birds and one of those was a Med Gull! Very few black-headed young were raised here this year. It is presumed that dry conditions and low water levles allowed fox access to nesting islands.
