Down on the London Rd Allotments and over the back field this a.m. I am quietly confident that there were 5 Peregrine Falcons, wheeling about and giving much aggro to the local pigeons, but not actually killing them. I say quietly confident because of my eyes getting old and having no Bins with me. 2 other gardeners with some birding knowlege agreed with me. After my greenhouse and allotment getting done by vandals this week it was a real pleasure, but will take some Bins next time, so watch this space. Cheers Mike Surr |

Are you all certain these are Peregrines? In all my birding years I've only ever seen more than two together immediately post breeding and near the nest site. A party like this would suggest local breeding, but where? John |
