Hi

Brief visit over the high tide this morning:

Lagoon
Curlew Sandpiper - 2
Greenshank - 24
Little Tern - 2
Plus thousands of Knot and Dunlin - a real spectacle at the moment

Saltmarsh
Whimbrel - 43

Speaking of a spectacle - the sand martin bank at Frampton Marsh is quite amazing at the moment. I popped down at lunchtime and watched at least 300 birds flying around the bank. Because you can get so close the birds are flying all around you too. Well worth a visit I'd say without a hint of bias!
Also 200 Black-tailed godwits on the reedbed.

Hi

About 16000 knot and 4000 dunlin. Estimated by counting birds on photographs on 3 islands (approx 2000 birds on each). There were 7 more areas of similar size to each of the 3 islands. If anyone wants to have a go at counting the birds on the 3 islands they are very welcome to the photos. Also about 100 common tern and 200 turnstone.
