Phew - a scorcher but a pleasure to be out there for the first time in 2 weeks 8)

Foggy to begin with then hot hot hot. 6.30-9am birding then 9am-1pm doing a RSPB predator survey. Species seen :

Avocets- these caused quite a commotion this morning as 3 little chicks took up residence in the middle of the main road - they were ushered to safety by the LWT but one then later became separated from its siblings and ended up in a ditch tangled in weeds and struggling. After a heart stopping ten mins it freed itself. Very cute!
