Peregrine has roosted on the spire of St James 3 times this week. I climbed the tower on Friday and took photos of the nest tray, which shows clearly why they haven't nested this year.

Have to agree with you, may I suggest the story and pictures go to the Louth Leader and the Target, if they print, it may stir things up abit certainly it would bring it to the notice of the powers that be.

'Stirring things up' is likely to be counter productive. We do need the church to be 'on-side' here, and they could very easily take the easy option of keeping the tower fully open in a 'business as normal' manner, which would ensure that Peregrines never nest here. We will discuss the situation with the church later this year to see if we can get things altered for next year.

I have to agree with Alan. They are trying their hardest, but lets not forget that they are probable uneducated to the extent that they know about perigrines in Lincolnshire, what they feed on and how rare they are AND most important of all, how many people wish to see these birds of prey in Lincolnshire again.

So for, I think there's only been about 4 people in enquiring about this species (and one of them's me).
