We arrived at Manby Flashes at 3.30pm today (Wed). Fortunately, the tractor had finished its work near the Flashes and the bird count had improved : Wood Sandpiper - 5 Green Sandpiper - 9 Ruff Greenshank Little Ringed Plover Oystercatcher Grey Heron - none: some local birders told us that they usually flight in from c. 6.00pm or so. NOTE: Manby Flashes is not the easiest site to find. We had to ask directions from 2 or 3 local residents. One woman at first misheard 'Manby Flashers' and looked quite ill at ease. ![]() Regards, Freddy (with son Alex) |
