Is there a dearth of this species this year or are they not being reported? I saw two in Hatcliffe, N Lincs today - my first this year and can only find one earlier reported by Paul French on the coast 15th.

John i have just had a days birding at some sights in derbyshire had lots of pied flys redstarts even a wood warbler but no spot fly at this site where i have always seen them before. 1 pair at a site near ogston res but they were elusive in todays windy conditions. I also feel that numbers have once again suffered a major decline unless they are just late arriving, ( hope so ). :(
terry whalin :(
