Kirkby on Bain Gravel Pits 15.05.2009 Whilst watching the 1st summer little gull and 2 black terns over the Northern Pit at Kirkby a dark phase arctic skua flew SE over the reserve to the south at 08.50, about 30m high up. A reserve first (?) and certainly an unexpected year tick. Great seeing migration in action like that, even if it was pouring down! Cheers Brian |
