Hi Today on the reedbed: Black Tern - 8 Little Stint - 1 Curlew Sandpiper - 1 Wood Sandpiper - 1 Sanderling - 4 Egyptian Goose - 2 Garganey - 1 drake Little Ringed Plover - 2 (scrape) Plus many Swifts and hirundines this evening. (Note - 17 species of wader on the reedbed today. Not a bad start...!) No sign of the Temminck's today, and it was only reported briefly yesterday. PF. |

How long do Black Terns hang around? |

Not long usually, but there is currently a decent passage going on throughout eastern England, and with the current weather conditions there are probably more to come. Any bit of water is worth a look, but Frampton is obviously the nearest "best" site to you. |

Today Friday initially in pouring rain then eventually clearing after lunch black tern 4 dunlin 40+ ringed plover 20+ black tailed godwit 24 little ringed plover 1 little stint 1 turnstone 5 yellow wagtail 1 wheatear 1 kestrel 1 avocet (?) pochard 1 corn bunting 1 redshank 12+ little grebe coot (lots) swift swallow house martin whimbrel 1 ruff 2 little egret 3 |
