Zero up to 1045 as well but there were a few expectant birders waiting for the return so no doubt we will hear if they do.

Aparently over 70 this afternoon...........but I saw 50+. There seems to be very few adults amongst them, suggesting they've had a good breeding year?

No sign today at STW until 1400 when Steve Nesbitt 'phoned me to say there were some on Tollbar Road again. Estimated about 40 until we left at 1430.

No sign of any Waxwings at the entrance to Marston STW this afternoon (1.30 - 2.30); then word came (? via David M.) that there was a flock on Tollbar Road, Marston.

The flock numbered c.45, perched in a tall tree between the Olde Barn Hotel and the Cold Store towards the A1. They were feeding on Hawthorn berries along a footpath to the right.

They were still there when I left at 3.15pm. Pleased to meet up again with Peter S. and his Dad from Metheringham and Andy G. from Lincoln.

As I passed the entrance to the STW on my way back to BBH, there was a solitary Waxwing perched on the Hawthorn opposite.
