The Fiskerton Fen drake Garganey is back as of this evening, on the main pool in front of the 'scrapes' hide, NOT the round 'primitive hut' type hide overlooking the 'main reserve' pit on the side of the Witham. Id given hope of seeing it when a pair of shoveler flying low flushed it off the wet field where the scrapes are and it landed slap bang in the middle of the main pool - how lucky was that? It was still there when I left at 18:40 pm.
Also 1 x Barn Owl on the way back to Lincoln via Fiskerton.

cheers,
Matthew.

I left about 16:00 and there was no sign of a garganey. Plenty swifts, swallows and house martins though. Water levels as high as I have seen them but at least the path to the hide (pumping station) is now dry
