Species Information: osprey

Location Information: on Wragby road/trout lake.

Bird Information: watched osprey being mobbed, saw it hovering, lost sight of it as it went down onto the water, heard a large splash and it came up with a big fish, flew round the lake and headed for the woods 500 plus yards away, i have long range pics on my phone camera 1 with the fish in talons, think it was a juvenile with its extra brown feathers

Hi, visited the Osprey site this morning, arrived approx 10.15am, spoke with the lady who owned the ponds, she said it was there
all day yesterday and then first thing this morning but flew off towards woods when she tried to get a photo. Spent 20 mins scanning adjacent woods with scope to no avail. Back to car for coffee flask and 5 mins later it materialised, circling above the ponds and then alighting on the telegraph pole where it had been fishing from yesterday, great views approx 70 yards away, sat there for maybe 2mins then flew off in direction of Lincoln. :D . Went on to Woodhall Spa to look for Ring Ouzel and spent an hour in Trevor Gunby's company, spotted it after 30 mins and managed good views in the smaller fields opposite the horse field. Two firsts in an hour, very happy!

Oliver.
