Just posted a shot of the RLB at Withern taken on Sunday morning. After watching the Gt Eau river valley for over an hour with no joy, a cacophony of Crows behind me alerted me and the RLB cruised swiftly overhead from the direction of Withern Wood and swiftly flew down the valley towards the large wood on the other side. Also had c.180 PF Geese north at 09.55h and several Common Buzzards.

It was hunting over the fields from the minor road between Aby and Withern, showing very well at 8am.

At Withern take the road towards Alford and after about 400 yards turn right on the road to Aby. Pull up, just past the first small wood on the left side of the road, after about half a mile where there is a track off to the right. Scan the rough grass field between the road and the river.

Glad you got it Anthony. I remember my 200th, Red breasted Flycatcher at North Cotes in 1976 and hope the Rough leg sticks with you as long as that has with me.

The Rough leg was also there today from 12.15 through to 1.30, interacting with a ringtail Hen Harrier some of the time. Also 4 Roe Deer.
