A Crane was at Garthorpe yesterday morning, 18th September, at 0715. I didn't have a chance to report it until now. It was on a sandbank (not a sandhill) of the R Trent at low tide - along with 210 Mallard - and flew off to the NW towards Blacktoft Sands about 15 mins later.

It appeared to be an adult to me - bit of red of the head and a nice bushy tail - but I didn't go to see the Bonby bird and am aware that will have been changing. Is it still there? I see on BirdGuides that one flew N over Bottesford on the 14th, likely the same, but I've not seen any report of one near here over the past couple of days.
