The Lincolnshire Bird Club

Showed well this morning, intermittently along the edge of the eastern-most reed bed on the Reedbed lagoon. Too many Moorhens and Coots for it to stay out for more than 3-4 minutes, but showed between 05.20 - 06.15 at least.

No sign of the crake between 8am and 1pm as far as i know, but a good morning produced:

Temminck's Stint - 1 on reedbed then on the scrapes from East Hide
Pectoral Sandpiper - 1 on reedbed, but often elusive
Wood Sandpiper - 3
Green Sandpiper - 10
Ruff - 14
Greenshank - 2

Stoat - 1

At Freiston Shore over the high tide early morning (all on reservoir):
Little Stint - 3
Greenshank - 13
LRP - 7
Common Sandpiper - 3
Green Sandpiper - 1
Wheatear - 2 along concrete track near reservoir

Spotted Crake and Pec Sand both still present at 7.10pm today.

I finally managed to connect with this bird at 05.50 this morning when it showed on and off for about 15 minutes. Despite staying at Frampton for another 5 hours I did not see the Spotted Crake again, although one person saw it briefly at about 08.00.
It seems that first light might be the best time for views of this elusive individual but early risers should be aware that one has to look directly toward the rising sun in order to see it.
The Pectoral Sandpiper was also reported to be still at Frampton today but, despite several attempts, I did not locate it, although one Wood Sandpiper did show nicely.

Showed several times this evening, last at about 7pm. There were various observers there, some of whom were a little bit too noisy and caused it to scuttle off into the reeds. Best seen at first light.
