While out early this morning, I heard what I initially thought was a house martin calling overhead, then after the bird called again, I realised that it was a lark type call. I did not see the bird but it was clearly flying norh-east at some height. I have not heard one for a long time but my recollection would suggest short-toed lark ? V frustrating.

Nige Lound watched a black kite southward down the East Dunes at 1240 ish - probably went over to Norfolk.

and came through Spurn mid morning seen making landfall in Lincs -- about time something wandered inland as far as Barton pits its getting depressing here!
